Year 4 news
We have had a fantastic start to the first week back of term.
Lots of children have read so far but we would love to get in the 20s for the reading raffle.
Last week, we started learning about and playing 'Steel Pan drums' .
I thought it would be nice for you to see a clip from this week.
Please can I remind you that the children need a PE kit in school at all times, with change of suitable footwear as we are enjoying the warmer weather and doing PE outside. We had a fantastic session of Rugby yesterday.
Thanking you for your continued support,
Mrs Manders, Miss Richardson and Mrs Peters
Year 1 Gymnastics Festival
On Friday 1st March, Year 1 have the opportunity to visit Shirebrook Academy to take part in a Gymnastics Festival. The children will be having early lunch and leaving school to walk up to the event at 12.30pm. Please can you make sure your child has PE clothing (school PE kit) and suitable footwear to walk up to the event. Whilst there the children will be taking part in a carousel of gymnastic activities. Due to walking to and from the event the children will be expected back at school at a slightly later time of 3.30pm. Your child will be dismissed from their usual exit on return back to school. Make sure you keep an eye open for photographs from this event.
Many thanks, Miss Kerry :)

Mini models news.
This weeks shining star was Kai. Thank you to Kai's mum for coming to a stay and play session. The children and Kai loved having you there to play with them.
We have done lots of creative activities making jungle animals out of our story of the week. We made Elephants, snakes and a crocodile. We also experimented with using some cutters to print shapes.
The children enjoyed playing in the compost with the diggers. We did lots of scooping and tipping.
This week we had a go and drawing on the interactive board. The children enjoyed making marks in a new way.
The musical instruments have been a big hit in the afternoon. Alan really enjoyed trying them all.
Ollie and Ollie - Lee have enjoyed building lots this week. They have used different types of construction toys and made castles, train track, robots and Bat man.
The afternoon children have also been practising using the scissors.
Here are more photos of what the children have been up to the week.
