Year 3 Sports Motivator
This afternoon the Year 3's really enjoyed getting active in the whole school circuit!
Who can you see?
I am very proud of how much effort you put in everyone! Have a great weekend!
Miss Kerry :)
Sports Motivator 2019 Kelvin Bately.
This afternoon Model Village has had an Olympic Athlete come to visit...
Kelvin Bately! He is a very local athlete who grew up in Worsop!
Kelvin's sport is BMX Racing. We have been very lucky this afternoon to hear all about his journey to becoming an Olympic athlete. The theme 'BEST' ran throughout his presentation this afternoon. Being the best you can be and not giving up! The time is now everyone to decide on something you want to do in life, and take the steps you need to begin that journey! Kelvin said its all about: hard work, fun, dedication, and practise - begin your journey today!
Its been a fun filled afternoon getting to know Kelvin and seeing James again, our Olympic Athlete from last years event. The children all thoroughly enjoyed their time in the hall carrying out their circuit and supporting/ cheering on other classes. Thank you to James for being great at getting the children involved and motivating them! Kelvin chose some children throughout school who he felt were great athletes and who put in lots of effort towards the circuit and rewarded them with wrist bands. A big well done to this group of children for being recognised and a big well done to everyone else for completing your sponsored circuit.
Well done everyone and thank you again for getting involved in this Sponsored event!
Can Sponsor money be sent back to the school office by Friday 28th June! :)
Mini Models Sports Day

Sport News!
This week is a busy Sporting week at Model Village...
On Thursday 20th June it is Model Village School Sports day.
Mini-Model, Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 will be holding their Sports Day on Thursday am. Please check with a member of staff the times for the morning if you are unsure.
Thursday (20th) afternoon will be a fun filled Sports Day for Years 1-6. We would love for you to come support us and cheer your children on! The gates onto the top field will be open from 1.15pm for you to come in and find a spot for the afternoon. The children will join you on the field at 1.30pm with a warm-up and a class by class lap of honour led by Mr Andrews and some of our Year 6's. As we have done previous years, the event will be competitive and your children when running their events will be collecting points for their School House team. We ask that your children have a top to match their house colour for competing.
Clumber - Blue, Rufford - Yellow, Hardwick - Red and Sherwood - Green.
Throughout the afternoon, your child/children will be taking part in two races: a Flat Running Race and a Novelty Race. Depending upon the weather and timings there may be time for some House Relay runs at the end - this will be decided on the day!
We hope to see you there!
Also...
Can I remind you that on Friday afternoon (21st June) we have an Olympic Athlete coming into our school to share his pathway and experiences with the children within his Olympic Sport. During the afternoon, the whole school, will take part in a fitness circuit in which we are asking for sponsors. The events, over the past three years, have been a great success! The children have really enjoyed the experience of meeting someone with such a high profile, thoroughly enjoy getting involved in sport with them and in previous years have managed to raise a good sum of money to put into our school PE and Sport budget for resources to improve the curriculum and lunchtime provisions. We hope that this year will be just as successful! Last week, your child brought home an individual sponsor form for them to collect sponsors for the event. Your child will be individually rewarded for how many sponsors they collect with prizes - what a great incentive! We hope you will support us again this year with this.
Keep your eyes out for photographs being posted on here from the afternoon.
Many thanks, Miss Kerry :)

Key Stage 2 Basket Ball
Well done to Logan, Will, Heidi, Alfie, Domonik, Stacey, Mia, Harley, Jamaine and Caleb who represented our school at the Basket Ball competition tonight. The team tried really hard but unfortunately we didn't make the final three team places. Model won one game and lost the other. Better luck next time... stay positive. A big thank you to those children who stepped in to make up our team last minute too. It is very much appreciated. Also a HUGE thank you to Caleb's mum and Jamaine's mum and dad who continually show their children and school support by being spectators and with transport.
Always proud of how sportsman like you are. Miss Kerry :)
