Key Stage 2 Basket Ball

Well done to Logan, Will, Heidi, Alfie, Domonik, Stacey, Mia, Harley, Jamaine and Caleb who represented our school at the Basket Ball competition tonight. The team tried really hard but unfortunately we didn't make the final three team places. Model won one game and lost the other. Better luck next time... stay positive. A big thank you to those children who stepped in to make up our team last minute too. It is very much appreciated. Also a HUGE thank you to Caleb's mum and Jamaine's mum and dad who continually show their children and school support by being spectators and with transport.

Make it day

Do you have any old newspapers ready to put in the recycling?  If so, please send them to school on Thursday so that we can use them to cover and protect our tables ready for make it day.  Thanks!

Inclusion Festival 08.05.2018

Ten children represented our school today at an 'Inclusion' Festival at Shirebrook Leisure Centre. The children, as always, had fantastic behaviour and had so much fun. 

Thank you to Cole, Alex, Dray, Elisha, Jack, Neil, Olivia, Jakub, Kira and Rocco for representing our school. We are all very proud of you!

World Book Day

World Book Day has been rearranged for tomorrow Thursday 8th March.
Children are encouraged to come in to school dressed as their favourite book character and if possible bring the book into school with them to share with others.
A voluntary donation of £1 is asked for and will be used to buy more books for school.

Can't wait to see all the costumes tomorrow! ☺

Andy and the Odd Socks

Andy will be visiting school on Friday.  We have been practising the song.  You might want to practise at home too; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Phu3js293XE&safe=active  Children can wear odd socks along with their Christmas jumper if they wish to.

Year 6 News

We've been having a few tests in Year 6 and so far they show that the children that are reading more frequently at home are making the most progress. It really does make a difference so please continue to read widely outside of school. Thank you for your support.

As you can see, some children have been very busy designing and creating their very own nutcrackers at home. One is guarding our classroom - it's huge! Thank you to Ajay, Ellie and Maddison for their creations.

Year 6 News

Congratulations!

Well done to Kai as he is our certificate winner for this week. He wrote a brilliant recount called 'Gorilla Attack' and is now in the process of writing an eyewitness account about a shark attack! I'm sure yr 6 will get their teeth into this one!

We'd also like to celebrate Mia Tomblin in Maths this week as she has moved on to her 2nd Maths book! Her book is full of well-presented work and answers and she should be very proud of the progress she is making across all subjects in school.

Also, we'd like to mention Phoebe's maths work this week and her excellent setting out and calculation skills. Again, another well-presented book with a clear sense of pride in her work.

Now, moving on to the Art side of things, this is our first finished picture in the form of Picasso and Cubism...keep watching - there's more to come.
