Shirebrook Library Visits

We have been lucky enough to organise some visits to Shirebrook Library in the coming weeks.  Each class will take it in turns to visit the library, learn some library skills and have the opportunity to borrow some books.  If all goes well, each class should have three visits before the end of the school year.

If your child is not already a member of Derbyshire Libraries, they can become one in one of the following ways.

  • Pupils can go to the library with their parent or guardian.  The parent or guardian would need to take with them some letter or document that has their name and address on.
  • Customers can now sign up on-line at the following link https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/leisure/libraries/using-your-library/joining/joining-the-library.aspx Their library card will be posted out to them which they should receive within 10 working days.
  • A manual registration form can be collected and returned to the school office.  We can then check your details on our system and send the forms to the library for you.

More information will be sent home in a letter nearer to the time of your child's visit but some of these methods may take a couple of weeks before the library card is delivered to you so if you want your child to register, please choose one of the methods above to get the card as soon as possible.
