Year 2 - Our first few days

What a busy week it has been. Most of the children are feeling tired.

The class has selected it's student council representatives. It is Olly. N and Lilly.

The class have been sent home with a new book bag and about lots of letters tonight, so please check their bags.

They have their new reading book. Today when we came to school nearly all the class had read over night. Remember to read once over the weekend so they can get a smiley. If they read once over the weekend and then every school night they will be entered into our school reading raffle.

There is also a meeting on Tuesday 10th September at 3.30pm in the hall to discuss our new approach to reading.

Your Child has also come home with their spellings. These are stuck in their reading diary. Please encourage your child to use the spelling Bee website or app to help with their spellings. The children are excited to get on to the school top 10 leader board which we check most days.

Also remember to use times tables rock stars too. The children need to get quicker at knowing their 2, 5, and 10 times tables.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all Monday.

Year 4 information

Thank you for listening to your child read yesterday, it was really pleasing to see so many reading books in school this morning.
To encourage reading and foster the enjoyment of reading, every day after lunch, we shall have a quiet reading session. If possible I would like the children to bring their favourite book from home (please write name inside) to read. The books will be kept on their tables during the week so they can dip into them if they have any spare time or wish to read them at break time. I shall be bringing my own book to read too!
Don't worry if you don't have a book, we have plenty in the library.
If you have any unwanted books at home that you would like to donate to the class reading area I would be very grateful.

P.E
Children will be having P.E on Monday and Thursday. Ear rings need to be removed. Children need T-shirt, shorts and a change of footwear please.

Homework
This week I would like the children to practise their spellings and times tables using the Spelling Shed and Times Table Rockstars sites. Children should now have their login details in their reading diaries.

NB Please make sure you sign your children's reading diary and write down when the book needs changing.

Welcome back to Mini Models

Welcome back to all of our Mini Models children after the Summer holidays, it has been lovely to see everyone back in nursery with big smiles on their faces :-)

A big hello to our new children that have joined us this week, we hope that you are all excited for your first sessions next week.

Mrs Dentith has joined us this week, we hope you have all had chance to say hello to her.
