Year 3 news

      Sunamita, Mathew, Oliwia, Marnie, Riley, Chase, Livia, Miya, Faith, Daisy and Louisa all have been on Mathletics last week at home- well done children! 

Oliwia got her bronze certificate too. 

Riley, Daisy, Riley, Mathew, Layla, Miya, Faith, Reagan, Mina, Nikolas, Oliwia, Maja, Marnie and Louisa all played on Times Tables Rocks Stars too!  

Remember new spellings are on Spellling Shed. Mathew is 4th on the school leader board- fantastic work 😀

This coming week, we are going to be writing a defeating a monster story together in English and being a Roman Soldier in Topic. Look out for photos on here later this week.

Nursery FS1 update

Thank you to the continued participation of parents coming to play with their children at School when it is their 'Shining Star' week and all the different activities.
Matthew had a great time showing his Mum around inside and outside playing with other children. Matthew was able to show his Mum how good he was at listening in his group work time, well done. Leela's Mum was also able to come and see the start of the day, watching Leela join whole class song time and her Phonics group. Well done to Leela for joining in with more confidence.

Nursery FS1 Roald Dahl day 📗 😊

Sorry for the delay there was a technical problem downloading the number of photos. Thank you to all parents for joining in with costumes and props. The children really enjoyed looking at each other and we shared lots of the illustrations of the famous characters from Roald Dahl's books for the children to discuss and compare.
A big welcome to the New Afternoon Nursery FS1 class, who are settling very quickly, well done.
Jack and Ariele, also kicked off the first of our 'Shining Stars' this year in the morning class. Thank you to Jack's Mum for spending a morning with us, joining in with different activities and group work. Jack was very good at playing the 'Jack and the Beanstalk' Maths game, counting and jumping up the number leaves to collect the coins. Ariele had a lovely week exploring all different types of mark-making and drawing, feeling proud of her work and wanting to share with the adults. 

Year 5 News

 

Well done again to last week's Golden Star Ellie and to our special mentions. 

 

This week we had 12 children who got their technology smilies for accessing TTRS, Spelling Shed and Mathletics.  That's double last week's score.  Let's see if we can double it again!  We also had 19 children who entered the reading raffle on Thursday.  Well done to those children who are reading everyday.  Can we beat 19 next week?

This weekend, the children have a Mathletics activity that asks them to work with numbers to 1,000,000!  I see that 7 children have already completed the task.  Brilliant!  Remember, if children have a go at their homework over the weekend but have any problems, they can come and speak to me about it on Monday or Tuesday before it's due on Wednesday.  It's best not to leave it until Tuesday evening.

New spellings are on Spelling Shed (along with last week's so we don't forget them!) and we'd love it if everyone read.  There's no written English homework this week as it's a short week.

I hope everyone is looking forward to our first swimming lesson on Monday.  I won't be able to join the class but Mrs Bradbury will be there for anyone who is feeling a bit anxious.  Thanks to those of you who have returned the permission forms.  If you haven't done this, please make sure you send it back on Monday or pop into Reception on Monday morning.  If we don't have the form, your child will not be able to swim.  Children will need to make sure they have their kit and that they are not wearing any jewellery, including earrings.

Monday is photo day.  Bring your best smiles ready for the photographer!
