Many thanks to all the children and parents who supported the first day of Anti-bullying week yesterday by sending their children in 'odd socks' and donating at least 50p to the Anti-bullying Alliance. Thank you so much!
This week heightens the profile of the important message we educate all children... "say no to bullying!"
In year 2 the children wanted to challenge themselves and see if they could come to school in 'odd socks' all week...so I will join them.
#Andyandtheoddsocks! #sockcircles #sockselfies!
Yesterday, we began a sock puppet project to carry out during Anti-bullying week this year. We began by looking at some existing sock puppet designs for inspiration before designing our own. We talked about the materials and equipment we would need and could use to make the puppets - making an equipment and materials list for our own puppets. Some children got really into making them personal and asked to bring stickers and beads that they had at home. As long as the materials are useful and sensible, we have allowed the children to bring anything in they need. The making of the sock puppets will begin today and continue tomorrow (on Wednesday)... any finishing touches will be sorted before sharing them in a whole school celebration assembly Thursday!
Keep a look out for year 2's odd sock puppets...
Miss Kerry, Mrs Elliott and Miss Honeybun :)
