Year 2 News...

This week we have received many more fantastic China Homework projects. Take a look at the creations our children have made with their families.

Thank you very much Oscar, Sophie and Junior :)

The children have really enjoyed learning about China and are working part way through a class project within school. We are creating an interactive leaflet 'Exploring China' with focuses on: weather and climate, culture, farming, schools, landmarks and animals. It is unlikely these leaflets will be ready to share for the class assembly on Wednesday, but we will most definitely be using the information we  have acquired so far to share with you.

Year 2 Class Assembly Wednesday 7th February
10.30am -10.45am

Well done to Kia-Mae our class certificate winner this week. She is a well deserved winner of this certificate as she is always prepared for learning and ready to learn new things.
Well done Kia-Mae, keep up the hard work.

Chopstick Challenge

We have discussed how in China, many people use Chopsticks to eat their food, as part of their culture. On Friday in year 2 we created a 'Chopstick Challenge...' the children were given the chance to practice picking up food items with different properties with a set of chop sticks. Following the opportunity to practice the children each took turns to see how many food items they could pick up independently in 1 minute.
Look how much fun we had!

The children were well focused and demonstrated good concentration skills. We need a little more practice to develop our fine motor skills though.

The top three 'Chopstick challenge' individuals were:
Sophie, Junior and Kaiden.
Well done to all three of you!

Many thanks to Stacey (Kaiden's mum) for being so thoughtful and ordering chopsticks offline for everyone to have the chance to experience.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. See you tomorrow.
Miss Kerry and Mrs Elliott :)
