Year 5 News

As we have an INSET day on Friday, some of the things that we usually do on Fridays will be done tomorrow.

• We will have our spelling test tomorrow and new spellings will be sent home so that children can learn them over the weekend.
• I will set a new Mathletics homework task which will run from Thursday until the usual due date of next Wednesday.  I know some children had some problems with this week's task so we have talked about the importance of having a go at homework over the weekend.  This way, if they find they aren't sure what to do or find that they have technical issues, they can come and speak to me about this at school on Monday or Tuesday and we can try to sort out any problems before the Wednesday deadline.
• The children have from one Friday to the next to complete tasks on Spelling Shed, Times Tables Rock Stars and Mathletics.  I will still check on this on Friday morning so if they haven't used all three, they still have time!  At the moment, I have 8 children on the list for their technology smiley - I wonder how many more can complete the task before Friday morning!
