Art Week - Monet influence by F1 Nursery 🎨

During the last week we have also spent some time discussing the famous French Artist 'Claude Monet' and used some of his famous paintings to inspire the children's art work. The children found out that 'Monet' really enjoyed painting in the outdoors. His main aim was to capture the changing light and atmospheric conditions. In particular we used the painting 'Waterlilies' to look at compare with a leaf in a puddle outside. The children observed the same photographed leaf in a puddle at different times of the day to look at the changes in light conditions and the changes in the reflections in the water.
The children used chalks, charcoals and oil pastels to create their pictures.
This allowed them to 'Explore colour and how colours can be changed'  and 'Understand that they can use lines to enclose a space, and then begin to use these shapes to represent objects'.
