Happy Christmas!

What a busy term we've had but we've finally made it and we're all still smiling! Year 6 have had a fabulous first term and I'm very proud of each and every one of them.

Over the Christmas holidays, please make sure that your child reads at least 1 book at their level and completes a book review about this book. This is very important; our reading skills have improved but we still have a long way to go to meet that Expected Standard by the end of Year 6. So, Happy Reading!

Also, could children continue to learn their spellings and rehearse their times tables up to 12 x 12 as this is another weak area in our maths. Some of us may know them but we cannot recall them quickly enough. Thank you for your support.

All that remains for me to say is have a fabulous Christmas and all the best for the New Year. I look forward to seeing all the children again on the Wednesday 3rd January.

Merry Christmas Mini Models

We would like to wish all of our Mini Models a Merry Christmas. We hope you have a lovely Christmas break and we'll see you all in the new year.

Don't forget!

The children who attend the morning session will start back on Wednesday 3rd January.
The children who attend the afternoon session will start back on Monday 8th January.

Year 2 News

Wow wee! What an exciting Friday we had at Model Village. We only had a visit from 'Andy and the Odd Socks.' Model Village was one of ten schools to win a visit from him for our 'unique' efforts during anti-bullying week. Many thanks to all involved, especially to Mr Johnson for encouraging the school to fully embrace 'anti-bullying week' and therefore have such a lovely experience on Friday. Andy sang his song 'Unique' with our children, presented our Pride point certificated and shared his new Christmas song with the whole school. The children thoroughly enjoyed it, as did the staff :)

I also recorded a full video of the song Unique, however I am having technical difficulties uploading it because the video is exceeds the size upload. Watch this space... it will not defeat me! :)

Christmas jumper day in Year 2!
Look at all those lovely Christmas jumpers and cheeky faces in Year 2!
We would like to say a big 'thank you' and 'Merry Christmas' to Miss Honeybun. She has completed part of her block placement in year 2 but will return in the new year to gain more experience across the school. The children, I and Mrs Elliott will miss you next week!

Here are a few photographs of our Design Technology project this term. Following our visit to 'The Proact Stadium.' We designed, organised and made our very own table top football table. As a class we decided upon what our designs must, should and could have. Then the children produced their own. Here are a few of the outcomes...

The children have personalised them to make the designs very individual. This week the children will have chance to evaluate them and experience using them, with a friend, before bringing them home for Christmas. The children have really enjoyed the project and keep asking to add more!

See you tomorrow everyone!
Miss Kerry and Mrs Elliott :)

Monday is party day. please could children wear their school uniform and bring their party clothes in a bag.

School finishes at 2:00pm on Tuesday.

Children come back to school on Wednesday 3rd January.

Year 3 homework

No spellings or homework has been sent home this weekend. Can you please make sure your child reads lots over the holidays. Could they also practise their 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10 times tables. This will really help them in January.

Andy and the Odd Socks Assembly fun!

A very enjoyable and memorable assembly with Andy from CBeebies for our School!
A lovely man with a great message from his Anti-Bullying Song about celebrating that it's fine to be different because we are all unique.

One child, who is an absolute Super fan was picked to ask Andy a question.
Isabella's Question: "What's your favourite Dinosaur?"
Andy's Reply: "I think it has got to be the Stegosaurus"
Andy's Question back to Isabella: "What's your favourite Dinosaur?"
Isabella's Reply: "A T-Rex"
