Thank you to all the parents that came to help in Year 6 for Make It Morning. We had a fabulous time and, as you can see below, we've made some brilliant Christmas decorations and ornaments.
Also I'd like to thank the parents and children that have taken their time at home to design and make a Nutcracker Soldier. The ones we've had so far are absolutely superb! Lots of pride points have been earned. So, if you've not made one yet, then get creative over the festive season.
Can I just take some time to mention Spellings. In year 6, when the children are writing, they are expected to be able to spell all common words correctly and also some trickier words that follow patterns and rules. It is of vital importance that children are learning their spellings that they bring home each week - so a BIG thank you if you are. However, there are a few children that are clearly not learning them and have told me so, therefore as a result they are scoring very low on their weekly test and it is showing in their writing. This lowers their confidence and self esteem and this then takes a while to build back up. I know that we are not all perfect and we make mistakes but no-one can grumble if the children have tried and done their best and learnt their spellings at home. Just a quick test each night would be enough and then a check that they understand what each word means.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Bush
