Year 5 News

Well done to our star of the week who has shown great perseverance with his sewing but also been a star at many other times through the week.  Well done also to some super swimmers.  Logan and Ellie also won a book in the reading raffle.  Keep reading so that more children can win in the raffle next week.

We need Year 5 to keep reading at home every day and getting their reading diary signed!  We also need you to use TTRS, Spelling Shed and Mathletics.

Our Mathletics homework requires the children to rehearse rounding so that they can estimate the answers to addition and subtraction problems.  Four children have already completed their homework task and Amber has earned enough points to get her certificate.  Who will join her?

Unfortunately, yesterday's spelling test scores were not as good as they usually are so the children have not been given any new spellings.  Please help and encourage your child to learnt their spellings and to go on Spelling Shed so that they improve their spelling scores and ultimately become better spellers.

This week we made some sock puppets as part of anti-bullying week.  We talked about how great it is that we are all different and how we should celebrate each others' differences.  Here are a few photos of some of the finished puppets.
