Year 2 Weekly News

Last week we had a lovely week in year 2! The children worked really hard with all their work and settled into their new classroom routine very well. Well done to everyone!

Last week Chase was our weekly certificate winner, he has blown our socks off with his effort and attitude to learning this week. He has written some super sentences about the story 'Gorilla' with beautiful handwriting. Also in his maths work he has worked hard finding missing numbers from a number square.
Keep up the great work Chase - you can do it!

Year 2 have started well with their reading efforts last week. 13 children made it in the reading raffle and some other children were very, very close. I know that next week we can beat 13. Last week in year 2 we talked about being 'the best we can be' and many children said they wanted to get better at reading, so we talked about reading every night - even if its just a little bit. :)
Well done everyone! Happy reading!

Look out for the year 2 curriculum newsletter coming out this week.
Remember Monday 10th September is an Inset day so school is closed for all children.
On Thursday 13th September it is Roald Dahl Day - don't forget to dress up.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Miss Kerry and Mrs Eliott :)
