Year 3

Our focus in Math's this week has been Days, months, years and time. The children should know how many days in a year or leap year and how to work out the number of days in a month. The children are finding time a little tricky. They are very good at o'clock and half past but they are mixing quarter to and quarter past. The children can tell me how many minutes passed the hour but work still needs to be done on minutes to the hour.

The Math's homework is linked to time this week. The children may need extra help and support with it this week to ensure they have a good understanding of time. Now is a great time to get your child to confidently tell the time.

This week in History we have explored why the river Nile was important to the Ancient Egyptians. Maybe they can tell you?

Some children and frequently missing one night of reading in the week. They are then unable to be entered into the reading raffle. So just a reminder, they must read at least once over the week and then every night they are at school. We are promoting children to enjoy reading. They can read things like magazines, comics, books from the library or home. An adult needs to sign their reading records.
