Foundation Stage 1 News update 'Children in Need'

This week the children have been learning all about the special event and national celebration of 'Children in Need'.  We have looked at the BBC's website that has great information to share with young children about what 'Children in Need' is, who it helps and why it is so important. We have discussed people's feelings and why it is good to help each other. This has been echoed in our Outdoors play this week, as we have encouraged the FS2 children to choose a 'special buddy' from FS1 to help assist them around an obstacle course. We have been learning the letter 'h'... for 'help' and creating 'Thank you' cards for someone who helps them. The children have really enjoyed sharing the 'fruit' in pots to have the same number so that is is fair between myself (Mrs Edwardson) and 'Pudsey Bear'.
The children had a great day on Friday dressing up for 'Children in Need', thank you so much to all the parents for the generous donations collected. What a great show it was last night, very emotional, a worthy cause to try and help all families have happy and healthy children.

A big well done to Georgia for being this week's  Pride Certificate winner for enjoying to be helped by her 'Special buddy' from FS2 but also for showing how she could also be helpful to her friends, showing concern for their well-being trying  to cheer them up. A lovely week for our 'Shining Star'.
