Look at all our super spellers this week!
And our entrants to the reading raffle, along with winner McKenzie!
And look who completed their homework.
Can we beat all of these next week?
Out homework includes some fractions tasks. The children started the week dreading learning about fractions but have astounded me with how well they have grasped the concepts of finding equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions. The homework again has Challenge 1 at the top and works its way down to Challenge 3. "Can we do them all?" asked Sonny! Of course! For the English homework on the other side of the sheet, children will need to practice their skills with a thesaurus. This can be in book form or the children can try using an online thesaurus.
Next week in maths, we will be using our times tables skills to multiply larger numbers. Children who know their multiplication facts up to 12x12 will be at a head start. Please encourage your child to practice over the weekend - don't forget that Times Tables Rock Stars is a great place to practice.
We've also begun our work on the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. The children were interested in the different ways of life and might want to continue their research at home.
There was no certificate winner this week due to our Remembrance assembly. I have a winner in mind already for next week but there is still time for someone else to take the lead!
Our attendance racing car is still in the starting blocks at the end of the first week of this half term. I hope the sickness has been and gone so that we can improve our attendance next week. Please help us move by coming to school everyday!
