Foundation Stage 2 06.02.2020

Hiya Everyone,

What a week! We started our new reward chart and Harry was the first person to get 5 ticks and choose a prize from the golden box! He was so excited and we were all very happy for him, well done Harry!

He chose an orange slinky.
On Tuesday, some of the children spotted a Moshi Monsters activity book in our reading corner and asked if they could have a go at some of them. Miss Watkinson photocopied some of the pages and they were brilliant at sharing them out.

This was Jenson's creation!
We also went to Shirebrook Library today. I'm so proud of them, they walked really sensibly and behaved their best when we were there. We had a brilliant time and lots of them have already asked if they we can go again! If you bought in a library card, your child would have taken home a book today. Remember this is your responsibility to return.

First, our Library guide told us all about the library. Did you know you can take up to 24 books out at one time?!

Then we all explored the library and looked at some lovely books!

We finished with a story. Thank you Shirebrook Library for having us!

Lastly, a big thank you to Vanessa L who brought in some lush cupcakes we all enjoyed Wednesday afternoon, we hope you had a lovely birthday.

I'm on a course all day tomorrow so will see everyone on Monday!

Foundation Stage 2 31.01.2020

Afternoon everyone,

Just a reminder we are heading to the Library on Thursday the 6th of Feb, so if your child has a library card please bring it in either before on or Thursday morning, thanks. If you would like your child to be a member you can register them at here.

In class this week we've been loving a new song on Go Noodle called 'I got a feelin', we've been trying our best to copy to dance moves and we spotted our silly monster 'Zapp Von Doubler' on the screen as well!

Zapp Von Doubler

This is us dancing before we got ready for lunchtime!

Ruby chose the next one - it was 'Chilli Chilli', one we've always enjoyed doing!

Have a good weekend, see you all Monday.

Shirebrook Library Visits

We have been lucky enough to organise some visits to Shirebrook Library in the coming weeks.  Each class will take it in turns to visit the library, learn some library skills and have the opportunity to borrow some books.  If all goes well, each class should have three visits before the end of the school year.

If your child is not already a member of Derbyshire Libraries, they can become one in one of the following ways.

  • Pupils can go to the library with their parent or guardian.  The parent or guardian would need to take with them some letter or document that has their name and address on.
  • Customers can now sign up on-line at the following link https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/leisure/libraries/using-your-library/joining/joining-the-library.aspx Their library card will be posted out to them which they should receive within 10 working days.
  • A manual registration form can be collected and returned to the school office.  We can then check your details on our system and send the forms to the library for you.

More information will be sent home in a letter nearer to the time of your child's visit but some of these methods may take a couple of weeks before the library card is delivered to you so if you want your child to register, please choose one of the methods above to get the card as soon as possible.
