I'm better when I'm dancing!!

Good evening,

Well done Year 4 we made it to 20 children reading at home but not quite enough for my dance. Come on let's go for it, we can do it!!!
If we get 23+ tomorrow we also have some helpers who can dance with me.
I am looking forward to a busy, happy decoration day tomorrow.
Happy Reading 👍👍👍

Year 3 The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood

The wolf has delivered all his story. The class have learnt the story to help them with their writing. Please keep practising at home.

Year 4 assembly and reading target

Good evening,
Firstly, we want to say a huge well done year 4 for a fantastic assembly - you  were all brilliant. Thank you to all parents/carers who attended. We really do understand it can be very hard to make such events with works and appointments etc. If you were unable to attend take it from us you should be very proud.

Reading at home in Year 4 has dropped recently and we really want as many children in the Friday reading raffle as possible. We have set the children a challenge, 23+ readers and I (Miss.Richardson) will do a dance!!! I love dancing and the children love watching me make a fool of myself so come on everybody!! 🎵🎵🎵

So, while I go through my moves (in anticipation for the big dance) Good night, happy reading and well done again Year 4 for a lovely assembly.

Keep Smiling and Reading :)

Year 2 Notice

Today it is the Year 2 trip to the Proact Stadium in Chesterfield. Please ensure you are on time this morning getting to school. Also just a reminder that we have asked children to still come in school uniform. If your child wishes to wear a pair of trainers instead of their school footwear for today, this is fine!
See you all later, those who are bringing their own - don’t forget your lunches!

Year 6 News

To Troy Downs
Who is our weekly certificate winner!
He wrote an excellent first paragraph to his diary entry, using lots of descriptive words and phrases to create a magical atmosphere.

Also, to Ajay Lowe
Who researched Pablo Picasso for his homework and presented it in a very imaginative and interesting way.

Also, to Tia Preston for being one of our lucky winners in the reading raffle. Keep reading Tia!

Can I also say a big thank you to parents for continuing to support their children in Year 6 with their reading. We had 20 children in the reading raffle last week - so only 4 children didn't make it. It would be great if next week we have 24 (the whole class!). As I'm sure you are aware, reading is so important in may ways: it's the key to developing your child's imagination and expanding their knowledge; the more they read, the better their understanding of the world around them and the more creative their imagination.

LET's GET READING YEAR 6!!!

Year 3/4 Sports Hall Athletics

Well done to our Year 3/4 Sports Hall Athletics team who came 3rd in the competition at the Academy tonight.
Well done to the outright winners of the competition - Anthony Bek.
St Josephs came 2nd (finishing only two points above us.) 2nd and 3rd place were so very close!
The teams efforts, quality running and teamwork did not reflect our final position in the competition. Everyone worked so hard and did what was asked of them throughout the competition - so a HUGE Well done!
A big thank you to all the parents: Sonny's mum, Boyd's dad and Jamaine's dad for supporting the school transporting the children to and from the event. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Miley, Millie, Jasmina, Grace, Sonny, Blake
Ellie, Amber, Boyd, Steven, Bray and Jamaine.

What a great time the team had yesterday. They smiled and enjoyed themselves. It was a pleasure to watch them. The girls came second in the competition and the boys made it to the plate final. We are now waiting to see who scored well enough to be invited into an individual competition.

Year 5 Weekly Update

There is a lot to share this week!
First of all, look what happened to our classroom on Monday!

We followed the clues and it looks like we were visited by a giant! Don't worry though, year 5 have written some instructions on how to catch it.

Well done to all the children that came in odd socks on Monday, we have had lots of fun learning the odd socks song and making our sock puppets. Also, we made some anti-bullying posters and talked about how we can be kind to each other. Then, we made our own class jigsaw. Each piece represents someone and shows the message that we are all different but all equal (photo to follow).

Certificate Winner!
Our certificate winner this week was Tyler. Tyler always shows the positive attitudes linked with PRIDE- he is a delight! Then Tyler also won a prize in the reading raffle! This is the second time he has won this year!

Miss Whysall and Mrs Bradbury :)
