Year 5 Update

There is lots to celebrate this week!

Firstly, I would like to say a big well done to all children who are practising their spellings at home. It is definitely paying off as this week we saw a big improvement in spelling scores and just over half the class got 10 out of 10! Let's see if we can keep it up next week!

Alyana was our certificate winner this week. She has been really determined in her maths work over the last few weeks and is being even more confident- well done!

Our always children got their hands on some Easter themed treats this week as they got busy baking for the rest of the class. They made some Rice Krispie cakes for everyone- even Mr Johnson and Mrs Clayton enjoyed a treat! They were gone before I could get a photo! We are hoping to have a whole class of always children next time.  :)

In maths this week we have been describing the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Here we are making 3D shapes- see if your child can tell you the names of them!

In PE we have been showing off our gymnastics skills! Mr Andrews had us balancing, vaulting and developing paired routines. Check out our balancing below- we had to hold our poses for at least 5 seconds.

Next week is healthy bodies week so we will be writing our discussions focusing on the sugar tax and don't forget Friday is Sport Relief Day so children can come in their sports kits (£1 donation). Also, we break up for half term on Friday at 2pm.

Miss Whysall and Mrs Bradbury :)
