Year 1

This morning the children went in to the hall for a taster session with Rock Steady. The children had fun joining in with singing songs, keeping the beat to a piece of music and listening to some different musical instruments. Some lucky volunteers even got to form a rock band and play the instruments.
Mia-Louise did an outstanding job keeping the beat on the drums, Reagan flexed his guitar skills on an electric guitar and Kayla kept the beat on the electric organ. All the children enjoyed the session and have shown an interest in taking part in an after school club led by Rock Steady which will take place the next academic year. Children have each been given a letter. If you would like your child to take place you need to book a place on the website at the bottom of the letter. Do not return the letter to school.

Mia-Louise was awarded the weekly certificate this week. She has been trying really hard with her handwriting and she is taking a pride in all of her written work. Keep it Mia-Louise.

Well done to all of these children for keeping up their reading even though the weather has been really hot and I'm sure they would rather have been playing outside!
Mia- Louise, Mathew, Gracie-Leigh, Oliwia, Riley G, Riley P, Mateusz, Miya S, Faith, Daisy and Layla.

Well done to Riley G who has now moved up to a grey colour band in reading. He is now a free reader which is an excellent achievement for a child who is only in Year 1!
