Year 5 Times Tables Rock Stars Battles
So the girls won our Girls v Boys battle by the narrow margin of only 8 points! Well played both teams.
But have you heard the latest? Year 4 have challenged us to battle against them! The battle started at 9am this morning and at the moment we are in the lead. However, with 0 points, it looks like Year 4 haven't had chance to play yet. So keep up the hard work Year 5 so that we can stay in the lead. You have until 9pm on Thursday to keep practising. Let's show those Year 4s who's boss!

Space Centre
A few snaps from our fabulous day out at the Space Centre today. We were really pleased that so many children could join us. I hope they all come to school tomorrow too so that we can talk all about the great day we had. The children are now tasked with designing a space rover and deciding which planet it will explore. Will it have strong gravity? What will it be made from? What will the temperature be? The designs will have to match the planets so I hope they can tell you what they have learnt about today!
Year 3 560 Program
Today during our 560 session we have learnt a new game called 'Danish longball.' The children had lots of fun taking part and were very competitive in their teams. We hope to have another go during our PE session tomorrow as a warm up to consolidate todays learning. Both teams finished on 13 points today - it therefore was a draw. I wonder who the winning team will be tomorrow?
A special mention to Tsvetomir, a danish longball superstar! Not only was he great at striking the ball to accumulate points for his own team but was fantastic catching out and eliminating the opposition. Well done, keep it up!
Junior, Diana and Anya should have received their freebies today so we are all set for 10 more weeks of the program.

Year 3 update
Hi everyone, Sorry for the delayed post this weekend. I'm a little bit late due to illness.
Just a light reminder to parents, please encourage your child/ children to practice their spellings at home. We have many children only achieving half marks. With a little practice each night each child's performance could improve. We try to support the children each day by giving them time to practice their spellings whilst the register is being taken so please make time to get your child to do so at home too.
A big well done to Sophie - she is the only child in the class to have achieved 10 out of 10 every week so far. I wonder whether she will achieve her prize by maintaining this all term?
There are also a handful of children, that it goes without question, practice their spellings at home each week to achieve their best. Well done to you - you know who you are!
This week, throughout school, we are having a BIG push with our times tables by using the Times table Rockstars Program. Each class will be having a daily slot to log in to their own account to practice their times tables. Your child can log in to this from a home computer, laptop, android or apple software. They all know their log ins - if they are unsure they are in their homework log (at the front) get involved at home too. Currently Koby has the most coins to spend. Can anyone beat him? The aim of using this program is to improve your child/children's pace to work out times tables. On average the children should aim to have a pace of less than 6 seconds.
Keep posted later in the week to find out how the year 3 children are doing...
