Year 5 News

Well done to Molly who won this week's gold star award for her progress in swimming.  Special mentions went to Boyd, Peyton and Wesley for their hard work in our writing work on persuasions and in ecological issues.

Super spellers this week are Oskar, Molly, Tear, Callum, Miley, Sonny, Boyd and Blake.  Well done and keep up the hard work.  Let's see if we can add a few more to the list next week.  We'll be focusing on the spelling rule "i before e, except after c" and looking at some exceptions too.

Homework this week is a task for using apostrophes for possession.  There is also another Mathletics multiplication game which I have assigned.  We have talked about having a pencil and paper handy to help with workings out and making sure the children take their time as this game isn't timed.  I have also assigned an Abacus game to rehearse our maths work on 2d shapes and there is a Times Tables Rock Stars battle between Year 5 and Year 3.  If children take part in all of this we should have some great mathematicians!
