Year 5 News

Well done to our super spellers this week - Sebastian, Oskar, Molly, Kian, Tear, Callum, Julia, Sonny, Boyd, Blake, McKenzie, Wesley and Lily!  You can find your child's score in their reading diary.  Lots of children scored 9 and spelt the word "relevant" wrong so we have added that to the list for next week.

And we had a record amount of homework returned this week!  I look forward to even more next week.  The children have some long multiplication to practise.  They should all attempt the first row and some children might want to complete the second row too.  We have done really well with this in our maths lessons so it would be great if everyone could practise so they don't forget how it's done!  English homework is more on relative pronouns and relative clauses which we are working on in class too.

As requested, I have assigned some more Abacus games to the children.  And don't forget about Times Tables Rock Stars - you can still improve your score.  Get practicing ready for the next competition!

The class winners for this competition were Eric with the fastest time, Grace Buxton for playing lots and lots and Olivia for improving her score.  Well done to everyone who played.

On Wednesday we achieved 100% attendance for the class!  Let's see if we can do it again next week on more than one day!
