Year 5 News

Well done to our certificate winner Lexie and to Bray who won a book in the reading raffle.  Special mentions went out to Krzysztof, Jamaine, Caleb, Rocco, Alfie, Jakub, Logan, Brooke, Demi-Jo, Archie and Lilly who all battled hard in our TTRS battle.  Not surprisingly, the boys won as only 3 girls played!  The children have asked for another battle so I hope many more children get involved.

This week's homework activity requires the children to partition numbers in order to practice their mental addition and subtraction strategies and remember that the column method is not the only method we can use!  So far, no one has earned their Mathletics certificates - come Year 5, I know you can do this!  Brooke is the closest with 810 points.  Can anyone catch her.

We've had really good attendance recently and weren't far behind this week's winners.  Let's keep trying to get everyone here on time everyday and aim for the attendance star next week.

Thanks to everyone who brought their teddies to school on Tuesday.  Don't worry if your child didn't, we managed to find enough in school for everyone to borrow one and join in with our NHS workshop.  We learnt about some different jobs in the NHS, had a go at being doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants and learnt about the importance of teamwork.  Here are a few photos of the day.
