Year 3 Update.

Hi Everyone,

This week has flown, we have been so busy working hard in all our learning!

Well done to Jacob, this week he is our certificate winner for his efforts in Guided Reading. He has been a role model to his peers, answering questions in lots of detail. Keep it up - we are very proud of you.

We managed to up our numbers slightly this week in the weekly reading raffle. 15 children managed to make it in there this week, in comparison to the 13 last week. A big well done to everyone who was in it to win it! C'mon year 3 next week let's beat the figure again! :)

This week, in Maths, we have been focusing on ways to learn our 4 times table. Remember to log onto Timestable Rockstars at home to help you practice your times tables in a fun, enjoyable and inviting way!

On Wednesday 23rd January (next week) it is our Year 3 Class Assembly. Please come along at 10.30am, for 15 minutes, to find out what we have been learning this term.

My apologies, today I have forgotten to send home a Handball Festival letter that is happening on Tuesday 22nd January, 3.15 - 4.45pm at Shirebrook Academy. The children who have been asked to come and join in this event are: Junior, Sophie, Keagan and Eliza. Parents are welcome to come and support their child, the festival will be hosted by Mr Andrews. Any help/ support with transporting children to and from the event would be welcomed and very much appreciated.

A slightly different homework has been set this week. It requires a little bit of research - because the children responded so well to a similar activity at school - we thought it would be nice to give them more practice. If your child needs a little support with this, it would be greatly appreciated if you could put some time to one side this weekend. New spellings have been sent home to practice and today children have had chance to change their reading books.

Enjoy the weekend and see you next week.
Miss Kerry and Mrs Doyle :)
