Year 3 update

Hi everyone, Sorry for the delayed post this weekend. I'm a little bit late due to illness.

Last week, our certificate winner was Koby. He is a little super star. At school, he always works his socks off - giving 100% all the time. Keep up the good work!

Just a light reminder to parents, please encourage your child/ children to practice their spellings at home. We have many children only achieving half marks. With a little practice each night each child's performance could improve. We try to support the children each day by giving them time to practice their spellings whilst the register is being taken so please make time to get your child to do so at home too.
A big well done to Sophie - she is the only child in the class to have achieved 10 out of 10 every week so far. I wonder whether she will achieve her prize by maintaining this all term?
There are also a handful of children, that it goes without question, practice their spellings at home each week to achieve their best. Well done to you - you know who you are!

This week, throughout school, we are having a BIG push with our times tables by using the Times table Rockstars Program. Each class will be having a daily slot to log in to their own account to practice their times tables. Your child can log in to this from a home computer, laptop, android or apple software. They all know their log ins - if they are unsure they are in their homework log (at the front) get involved at home too. Currently Koby has the most coins to spend. Can anyone beat him? The aim of using this program is to improve your child/children's pace to work out times tables. On average the children should aim to have a pace of less than 6 seconds.
Keep posted later in the week to find out how the year 3 children are doing...

Miss Kerry and Mrs Doyle :)
