From start to finish the children had endless active learning opportunities throughout the day! Some children chose to ride or cycle their way to school today on their scooters and bikes - which were then kept secure until the end of the school day!
The school day began by Key stage 2 having the opportunity to get active with Miss Kerry and Miss Whysall in a Zumba session from 8.15-8.50am. Well done to all that came, you started your day well!
We also sent a voice message to Clare and Shane (from the School Sports Partnership and Bolsover Council) to say 'Good Luck!' on their active day. Clare and Shane planned to run to all the schools taking part in 'STAND UP BOLSOVER 2017!' throughout the day.
At playtime and lunchtime children were encouraged to be active to celebrate the day! Some children enjoyed exploring equipment in any safe and active way.
Where as some children wanted to get active by taking part in Table Tennis and Zumba at lunchtime. We had a fun filled lunchtime today, and the children were an absolute pleasure to spend my lunchtime with!
Clare and Shane arrived at Model Village around 1.10pm and were welcomed with drinks, chairs (to take a short rest) and a short 'Model Village Motivational message', recorded by a group of children! The message read... 'You're nearly there Clare and Shane, you can do it! True Model Village style!
Clare and Shane both said it was one of the best welcomes they had had into a school throughout the day. Well done everyone!
At 1.15pm the whole school came together to perform our school dance 'Megan Trainor: Better when I'm dancing.' As always the efforts were great from all: children, staff and visitors, so thank you very much! Clare then talked for a short time to the children about the day, the importance of keeping active and what her and Shane had been doing and where they had been to celebrate SUB17!
Many thanks again to all involved. Another great sporting opportunity embraced at Model Village Primary School - we are so proud of you! I wonder how many children were tired and ready for bed last night? Or how many children needed a lay in this morning after their active day yesterday? Miss Kerry :)
