Year 2 English

Today we have begun our new unit of work: 'stories with repeated words and phrases.' This morning we used the instruments to create a collaborative story, using our own ideas, and that had a repeating structure to it. To begin we mind-mapped 'What was in our world' to generate ideas and children's thoughts, some of which were then used in their group work.

We worked in groups to decide: which instruments we were going to use, what each instrument represented and the outcome of playing the instrument. Also we rehearsed as a group deciding who was going to go in what order, to create a collaborative story. We had so much fun, the children really enjoyed exploring the instruments! Here are a few pictures from our morning...

Well done to Eliza, Jake. B, Junior, Jacob. B, Oscar, Reese, Max and Kia-Mae who all received pride points for their organisation, involvement and for great ideas when contributing to their group story ideas.
Miss Kerry and Mrs Elliott :)
