Year 1 Weekly News

This week during our English lessons we have begun to orally rehearse a report about the Gruffalo. We have started to find out what a Gruffalo looks like, where it lives, what it eats and an amazing fact about them.

In Maths we have been locating 2-digit numbers on a number square and finding 2 more and two less than a number. We have also been making two digit numbers on bead strings.

Mia-Louise, Gracie-Leigh, Rosie-Lea, Keaton, Miya and Daisy were entered in the Reading Raffle. Well done for keeping up the reading and well done to Gracie-Leigh whose name was picked out of the lucky dip back and has won herself a book.

Corban received the weekly certificate this week for answering lots of questions during his group's guided reading session. Well done and keep up the good reading Corban.

Harley and Marnie have been busy with their homework project. They have both made their space rocket using a range of materials and Harley has drawn and labelled a picture of his rocket and written sentences to tell me the materials he has used. I am very impressed Harley and I appreciate the time you have taken.
