Year 2 update...

As you know we are learning about China this term. Our class assembly is on Wednesday 7th February 10.30am - 10.45am. Please come and watch! Our assembly focus will be on China, as the children are really enjoying learning about the country and its culture.

Our role play at school is slowly building. The children have enjoyed making Chinese lanterns and making blossom for our blossom tree. The children's homework projects are also being displayed in there, some on the display wall and some on the tables, for children to look at and interact with more closely.

Tillie, has worked with her family, to make a great model of a Chinese Pagoda. Thank you for spending so much time and effort on the project! :)

An earlier post spoke about Anya and Ava's Chinese Dragon puppets. Here they are... what a great idea to link the cups together to represent the dragons body. Well done girls, great work! :)

On Friday, in year 2, we are having a chop stick challenge! The children were really keen to try and use chop sticks, so on Friday we will be attempting to use chop sticks to pick up different items. Look out for pictures of our CHOPSTICK CHALLENGE! We can do this! :)

Today our class were very excited to receive our 100% attendance award from Friday! :) It will be displayed in the classroom to remind the children of their hard work and how proud Mrs Elliott and I are of them for attending every day they can!

A big shout out also to ALL year 2 for fantastic spelling results this week. Children must be practicing more at home, which is great to see and hear. Keep up the hard work everyone!

This afternoon we have been learning about Chinese New year and have created posters and poems to inform others about what we have learnt. The posters and poems will be shared within the year 2 class assembly... you must come to see and hear because the children have worked so hard! Ask your children what their favourite part of this afternoon was... for most I would say that they enjoyed using 'publisher' on the laptops to publish their work! The children worked in pairs to find a boarder, choose their font type and edit a picture to their poetry. Well done!

See you tomorrow for a fun filled day! :)
