Unfortunately, our spelling scores were not as good as usual this week and lots of children have said they hadn't been learning them at home, which is a shame and they were clearly disappointed. The words the children are expected to spell by the end of KS2 are very difficult and therefore it is extremely important that they learn the spellings, the rules and the meaning of the words, both at school and at home. Children scoring less than 7/10 will be tested again the following week until their scores improve. Giving the children time to learn them, then test them should only take 5-10 mins each day but this time is vital in giving them the confidence and ability to spell accurately in their writing. Hopefully, I'll be able to report that scores were much higher next week. Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Bush.
